Porky Delights at THE BAR°N @ 1 Mont Kiara

THE BAR°N  is a tapas, wine bar and restaurant located in 1 Mont Kiara. A home for great wines and a smorgasbord of exquisite cuisine crafted to perfectly match your aperitifs, ambience and inner sense of gastronomic paradise. I was there recently with a couple of friends for a weekend dinner. 

We kick-started our night with the highly recommended, in house white wine Sixty Drops Sauvignon Blanc (NZ). Light bodied and crisp, it was brilliant.

With a good ratio of fat and lean meat, crunchy and crackling, this is rather inviting.

I find the texture a tad dry, it wasn't terrible, but it's not memorable either.

Oh.... Simply adore this. Juicy and tender, I wouldn't mind to have a few more sticks. :p

Oven Baked Portobello Mushroom with Bacon Tomato & Cheese RM28
Perfect combination of generous cheese with Portobello mushroom, pretty addictive.

Jamon Serrano on Rock Melon RM58
Beautiful presentation, but Jamon Serrano is pretty heavy-handed on the sodium too, I don't really fancy this dry-cured ham.

Scallop wrapped in Bacon with Passion Fruit sauce RM37
What a stunning combination of fresh and juicy scallop wrapped in bacon and top off with the zesty passion fruit sauce.

Kentucky Fried Frog (finger sucking good) RM35
Yes, you read it correct. It's a frog! Do you know frog meat taste so much better than chicken. If you yet to try, try it, you won't regret it! :p

All American wagyu beef burger RM40
Succulent, moist, juicy and flavourful thick Wagyu patties topped with cheese and bacon.

THE BAR°N Signature Oven Roasted German Baby Pork Ribs RM68
Specially marinated and grilled to perfection, the ribs are tender and tantalizing served with potato wedges and mixed vegetable.

Fried Hokkien Noodle with Sambal RM27
The noodles are heavily wok laden (wok hei) so you could probably know how good it is. 

THE BAR°N Bah Kut Teh RM35 (served with rice)
Being a Klang's girl, I am so used to intense flavour packed bah kut teh. IMO, the broth still lacks in taste and flavour.

A generous serving of al dente pasta tossed with mushroom, bacon, bird eye chili, chopped parsley, butter & white wine. Must try! 

Smoked Salmon Pizza RM37
Smoked salmon, rocket, cheese, onion, mushroom and capers served on a thin crusty pizza and drizzled with sour cream. Amazing blast of flavour

Chocolate Volcano RM31 (served with scoop of Haagen-Dasz vanilla ice cream) 

Ohhh... The gooey chocolate oozing out is just perfection.

Deep Fried Banana with Gula Melaka Syrup RM29 (served with scoop of Haagen-Dasz vanilla ice cream)

Incredible alcohol-laden simple dessert.

In a corner of THE BAR°N, there is a wine room offering a fine selection of wines. Take your pick of wine from there and you could enjoy your wine corkage free at the restaurant. And in case you could not finish your bottle of wine, THE BAR°N will also provide wine storage service so you could enjoy your wine for your next visit.  The wine in my hand is one of the most expensive in the house.

THE BAR°N is the perfect place to chill out with boozes and amazing tapas & bites with family or friends. Pricing is slightly on the high side, but the huge serving portion made it affordable.
