All Things Bamboo @ Bamboo Taste, Bukit Tinggi Klang

Do you know the bamboo restaurant in Klang? This has to be one of the most frequently asked question recently. Apparently, there's this hype eatery serving all their dishes in bamboo. One fine Sunday, my friend Sidney decided to check out this place and came all the way from PJ. Yeah.... that's the extend of how far a foodie would go hunt for foods. :D

Bamboo Taste newly opened two months ago, only open once a week, every Sunday around 6.00pm. It's best to reach before 6pm to queue for the waiting number. We started queueing around 5.30pm and get the lucky number 7. Then, the order is placed according to our queue number.

Foods placed in the bamboo are cooked under the fiery hot charcoal fire.

Food preparation is done by these experienced kids. LOL

The dishes are then cooked under a medium to low fire for about 15-20 minutes.

Bamboo Rice (Best Seller)
It is a must order if you are here because according to the boss, if you never tasted the bamboo rice, it will be your loss. The al dente rice pre-fried and cooked in the bamboo, comes in 3 different layers of condiments like anchovies, salted fish and mushroom. However, I would prefer the rice to be softer and fluffier then it would be perfect.

Bamboo Threadfin Fish.
The fresh thread fin fish are cooked Teo Chew style. Absolutely delightful and appetizing to the taste buds.

Bamboo Crayfish.
This is quite disappointing as the crayfish are not fresh. I am guessing the crayfish are dead before cooking.

Bamboo Herbal Kampung Chicken.
Chicken is over cooked resulting in a harder texture. However. I adore the hearty herbal soup which is just tummy warming.

Bamboo Clam.
The clams are less meaty slight chewy in texture and sweet in flavour. Must try!

Bamboo Prawn.
The prawn were not top-notch that night.

Bamboo Crab.
The crabs are fresh and succulent, we are charged RM60 for 3 medium sized crab.

In a nutshell, it was a good experience dining all dishes in bamboo style. The bamboo even comes with fire to keep the foods warm. Worth to go try at least once for the experience. Do note that the ambiance are kopitiam style so wear light and comfortable clothing.
Most of the seafoods were not top-notch during my visit. Do share with me your dining experience alright?

Our total damage for the night was about RM240. The price is consider reasonable due to the cost of the bamboo.  The bamboo used once only and cannot be reused. You can even bring home the bamboo which make a good pot for plantation.
