In conjunction of the upcoming Lunar New Year, Nestle Omega Plus hosted a special cooking workshop at The Cooking House, Bangsar attended by the member of the media. The workshop aimed to educate us on tips to adopt a healthier eating habits plus we also had the opportunity to whip out some nutritious versions of delectable Chinese dishes. As an advocate of heart health, Nestle Omega Plus is empowering Malaysians to lead longer, healthier lives by enabling them to take steps that can help improve their heart health, such as practicing healthy eating habits and regular exercise. Did you know regular consumption of Nestle Omega Plus milk aids in cholesterol management as it contains Acticol, plant sterols which help block bad cholesterol from entering the body?

During the workshop, Cher Siew Wei shared on the importance of practicing moderation and not to over-indulge in good food whilst celebrating Chinese New Year with our loved ones. Not only by consuming cleaner and healthier foods, but also complementing it with daily exercise and two servings of Nestle Omega Plus each day.

Dato' Dr Rajbans Singh also shared about the importance of taking care of one's health during all stages in lives. According to him, one of the major contributing risk factors to heart disease nowadays is high cholesterol, due to the intake of too much fatty foods in the body. Taking care of one's heart health from a young age will benefit in the long run, reducing the risks of heart failure or strokes. Eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and increasing fibre intake found in vegetables, beans, lentils, supplemented with a regular exercise routine will helps to improve cholesterol levels.

Despite Chui Ling's busy schedule and being a mom of twin boys, she still makes time for regular exercise. It all comes down to time management!

The workshop has Chef Roy showcased simple approaches of preparing healthful meals for the New Year, such as opting for grilling or steaming techniques instead of deep frying, using more vegetables or protein-based ingredients, which can keep us fuller for a longer period.

We get to try out the suggested techniques simultaneously.

Voila! Check out my team awesome creation.
