A:CONCEPT Make Your Concept Black Set (Review)

Hi, babes! Of late, we've been pretty hooked on to the K-beauty perfectly smooth glass skin and red hot lip trend. We had the opportunity to try out this simple makeup look using A:CONCEPT, a cosmetic brand from Korea. If you don't know yet, A:CONCEPT was established since 2013 is well known for it's unique and trendy, all in one cosmetic concept that is easy to carry everywhere. The name A:CONCEPT actually means the one and only cosmetic concept designed for you. Even Girl's Generation's Taeyeon and their makeup artist, Seo Ok also swear by the brand. With the creative packaging and chic hues, A:CONCEPT focuses on the fundamentals of makeup with a range of trendy and innovative products to cater for both novices and experts.

The lovely A:CONCEPT Make Your Concept Black Set Christmas kit consists of their popular brightening cushion, a cushion refill, a lip and cheek and a lipstick.

The packaging is sleek and stylish, you can actually slot in the A:CONCEPT's concealer or lip/cheek pen into the kit for a two-in-one travel friendly beauty kit.

The brightening cushion comes in either #21 Light Beige and #23 Natural Beige. I go for the lighter one which is pretty good match for my skin tone. The cushion also has added SPF35 PA++, not to mention infused with whitening and anti-wrinkle ingredients.

How to use?
After taking a reasonable amount of cushion compact on the puff, apply it from the center of the face and blend out.The light and thin formulation allows you to re-apply it to where you want to have more coverage without feeling heavy.

The cushion is easily picked up by the fluffy soft sponge. The lightweight formulations blend seamlessly without any stickiness or heaviness for a dewy finish.

The 2-in-1 Lip and Cheek comes in coral shade while the velvety matte finish lipstick comes in the classic red.

Lipstick swatches - Coral vs Red

The cushion gives me decent coverage and I am pretty satisfied with the coverage of my dark eye circles (without concealer) and redness. I achieved a brighter, radiant and more even skin tone.

For easier application, I strongly recommend to use a lip brush or your finger to apply the lipstick rather than using the lipstick itself. The silky and soft texture lipstick were well-pigmented and adheres on lips very well. You could also play with gradient lip by dabbing a few spots of color on the center of the lip.

The 2-in-1 lip and cheek Coral.
How to use?
Apply a small amount on the cheek, lightly tap and blend out with your finger.

Close up.

Ta daa.... The final outcome, coral vs red. Which look do you prefer? :p

My verdict : Overall, I love using this A:CONCEPT makeup set for casual makeup look. The coverage is decent and light, my makeup does not get cakey and stay intact for the whole day with no major touch up required. The only downside is that the lipstick feels a little dry on my lip, hence I will put on a layer of lip balm before applying the lipstick.

The A:CONCEPT Make Your Concept Black Set is now available for 50% off (Retail : RM212.00) at http://my.althea.kr. Guys, this is the ideal gift if you've got a woman on your gifting list. Till then, XOXO
