Tangerine Rooftop Dining @ The Face Suites

Woah... look at this stunning view. You know, this might be the most spectacular infinity pool view in Kuala Lumpur thus far. If you are wondering where am I, well this infinity pool is located on the Sky Deck at Level 51 of The Face Suites, a brand new, all-suite hotel in the golden triangle. A pool with such scenic views is definitely one of the best perks for staying here!

Besides the awesome infinity pool, you'll find Tangerine, a rooftop dining restaurant which offers diners an array of local and international cuisine with a scenic Kuala Lumpur city view and magnificent evening sunset. The posh and elegant restaurant was sophisticatedly designed in all marble and floor to ceiling windows with plenty of soft natural daylight. Their comprehensive menu serves diners who have a light appetite and to those who seek for a more substantial meal, you could indulge in some of the best Malaysian food and a variety of Western flavours such as pasta, sandwiches, burgers, seafood and steak.

Whether the opulence indoor dining area or the casual outdoor seating that overlook the Kuala Lumpur's scenic view, Tangerine is the perfect venue for business entertaining, family and friends gather, special celebratory occasion and casual socialising.

We arrived early for our dinner, around 6.30pm just in time to catch the beautiful sunset.

We were served these cute little molded pats of butter which consists of two kinds of butter, the typical salty truffle bordier butter while another was the tangy yuzu bordier butter with some fine artisanal bread. I am particularly enjoying the latter for its refreshing and citrusy flavour which gave the bread a rather interesting taste.

Pearl Tomato Compote
Our amuse bouche consists of the dainty peeled pearl tomato which has the right balance of acidity and sweetness, perfect to whet one's appetite. Visually enchanting, it was served with basil crumbs, nitro olive and honey yogurt cheese.

Foie Gras Cherry
Insanely stunning, the foie gras was beautifully presented with gooseberry, forest nuts and pochon tuille on the side. This is surely an incredible culinary journey, I whispered to myself.

Rich and smooth in texture, the foie gras was shaped to a red sphere mimic a real cherry, leaving a sensual flavour aftertaste.

Double Boiled Chicken Broth
The clear chicken broth was intense and rich in flavour, taste even better with the edible flowers and herbs added.

Cured Hokkaido Scallop
Firm and sweet, the succulent cured scallop was brilliantly topped with garden pea mousse and black caviar.

We were then served the cold and zesty Iced Avocado & White Gazpacho to cleanse our palate before the main course.

Wagyu Tenderloin (Additional charge of RM100)
Our grand finale was Wagyu Tenderloin served with grey chanterelle ragout, grain mustard baby spinach and romesco. Served rare, the delectable beef was fork tender and very generous in portion.

We also added on the superb fresh and succulent Brittany Lobster Tail with Hazelnut Foam for extra RM80. It was totally worth splurging on! This is definitely the stand out dish of the evening.

Spanish Goat Cheese
The gelato goat cheese served with charcoal meringue, pistachio cookies and orange jelly was creamy and silky smooth in texture, slightly tangy and so refreshing.

To finish, Chef Arini brought out a fancy assortment of petit fours dessert platter. From amuse bouches, appetizer to the mains and desserts, each course was impressive and taste amazing. Tangerine is a fancy and elegant fine dining restaurant that is sure to delight all diners.

The young and talented Chef Arini is brilliantly innovative and has elevated the fine dining food scene to a whole new level with her never-ending creativity. Thank you for having us!
