Usher in the Lunar New Year @ New World Petaling Jaya


This Chinese New Year, indulge in a feast of abundance with your family, friends and business associates at Pasar Baru, one of New World Petaling Jaya Hotel's acclaimed dining outlet. Its talented Executive Chef, Joshua Er and Banquet Sous Chef, Chai Chun Keong set to delight diners with a sumptuous festive buffet feast available from 14 January to 19 February 2019 for lunch (12 noon to 2.30pm) and dinner (6.30pm to 10.30pm) priced at RM118 nett per person.





For a sit-down meal, diners can opt for an oriental opulence with the grand decor of Shanghai splendour ambiance whilst savouring an imperial gourmet indulgence with new creations in set menus signifying good fortune, good luck and prosperity. Available daily for lunch (12 noon to 2.30pm) and dinner (6.30pm to 10.30pm) the price starting from RM1388++ per table of 10 persons. Some of the speciality dishes to look out for include Chef Chai's Steamed Garoupa in Superior Soy Sauce, Braised Seasonal Vegetables with Dried Oyster, Mushrooms, Black Moss and Tau Kan and Deep-Fried Prawn with Wasabi Mayo and Almond Flakes. We had the pleasure of tasting the delectable Prosperity Spring set menu which is priced at RM1,888.00+ per table of 10 persons. (minimum of 10 tables)

Prosperity Yee Sang with Jellyfish and Sliced Top Shell

A beautiful medley of colours and flavours, the sweet and tangy yee sang infused with fresh fruits  was light, refreshing and truly delicious.

Braised Seafood Treasures Soup
Served piping hot, the soup is hearty and packed with flavour.

Crispy Roasted Chicken with Prawn Crackers
The chicken was tender and boasted an inviting aroma.

Deep-fried Prawns with Wasabi Mayonnaise and Almond Flakes
Well-seasoned and deep fried till golden brown, the prawns was lightly drizzled with wasabi mayonnaise and topped with almond flakes for an extra crunch.

Steamed Garoupa in Superior Soy Sauce
Absolutely delectable, the superior soy sauce wonderfully complement the sweet and succulent fish. This was definitely the stood out dish of the evening!

Braised Seasonal Vegetables with Dried Oyster, Mushrooms, Black Moss and Tau Kang

Perfectly braised, the claypot filled with an abundance of mouth-watering and flavourful vegetables, dried oysters, mushrooms, black moss and tau kang was utterly satisfying.

Assorted Seafood Fried Rice with Anchovies and Tobiko
Fluffy and packed with flavour, the fried rice topped with crunchy anchovies and tobiko truly hits the spot.
