Nong & Jimmy Thai Seafood BBQ @ Ampang (Pork Free)

For food lovers, the famous Nong & Jimmy Thai Seafood BBQ definitely need no introduction. The restaurant had been around for the longest time and last week, I was here for dinner with a couple of foodies gang.

Caught some grilling of seafood in action.

Woah.... Huge crab!

BBQ is done over charcoal fire.

Mango Salad RM12
Begin our meal with Thai-style appetizer. Sourish slice of green mango, peanut and chilli with dried cuttlefish is too good to resist.

Tom Yum Soup RM15(Small) RM30(Big)
Served with generous fresh prawns, squid and mushroom. In my humble opinion, taste wise still lacked of 'kick'.

BBQ Stingray RM20
The stingray tasted just good, but I would prefer it to be more spicy.

BBQ Squid RM18
Fresh squid, done just right. I adore it's thick and QQ texture! So tasty.

Fried Yau Char Kwai
I find this taste rather bland.

Perhaps a dip into the in-house made pandan kaya might helps?
But....... still, nothing to shout about.

Prawn Cake RM15(Small)/RM30(Big)
This is seriously so good. Tasty and flavourful every bite and not greasy at all. Highly recommended!

Thai Style Steamed Siakap RM40

Thai Fried Siakap RM40

Butter Prawn RM44/KT
Fragrant and flavourful, only downside is overcooked prawn.

Black Pepper Crab RM70/KG

Grilled Crab RM70/KG
Prefer grilled, as you can taste it's natural sweetness.
Thai Fried Rice RM6/person

Overall, I find the food average, prices a little steep too. A revisit? I doubt so.....

BBQ THAI RESTAURANT @ JALAN KLANG LAMA, KL (Non halal)

Hey you foodies! Last weekend, was craving for some spicyness so friend suggested to check out BBQ Thai Restaurant. Situated along the busy main road of Old Klang Road, you will need to spot for the "BBQ Thai" huge lamp post.

Another tips, slow down once you spotted Toyota signboard.

I love how they decorate the surrounding with recyclable.

They have few small wooden huts with different colours theme. We are guided into this air conditioned green hut.

The outdoor seating. Spot the cute antique car!

Instead of plain water, let's try Pandan Water Rm0.80/pax (refillable)
Pandan fragrant water without sugar.

Thai BBQ Pork Neck Rm28
This is the GEM! So tasty..... Love it's flavour and juiciness. No thick layer of fats but only lean meats. So good even without the dipping sauce.

Pandan Chicken Rm18 (5 pcs)
Aromatic of pandan flavours but they served chicken breast. Meh!!!

Seafood Tom Yam Rm20
Prawn with lots of squid served in flaming fire pot is so spicy. A tad thick for my preference.

Salted Egg Yolk Flower Crab Rm48.00
I love how they layers a coating of flours with salted egg yolk on the crab. Fresh flower crab but rather small sized. Meh...

Mango Sticky Rice RM12
Very nice sticky rice, mango is a let down though.

Assorted Thais desserts

My #ootd with the special colored wooden huts background

Foods : 8/10
Price : 6/10
Ambiance : 8/10
My verdict : Must try BBQ Pork neck. Fresh and tasty seafoods, but pricing a little steep. Great service too. Limited parking provided so do come early.
