Wonderful Casual French Dining @ Brasserie 25, Hotel Stripes, KualaLumpur

One of YTL's latest luxury hotel, Hotel Stripes an Autograph Collection Hotels has opened its doors recently in the downtown of Kuala Lumpur. We were very honoured to be invited to preview its casual French dining restaurant, Brasserie 25 which is located at the lobby level of the hotel.

Upon entering the restaurant, we are absolutely amazed by the rustic charm, red brick arcades, mid-century copper sputnik chandeliers, elegant furnitures and wooden floors.

The restaurant dramatic and cosy ambiance made it perfect for business lunches or even informal dinner.

If you fancy a Le goĆ»ter indulgence, at Brahere's your chance to experience an afternoon tea with a French twist at Brasserie 25. The afternoon tea is available from 3pm to 6pm priced at RM60nett per pax comes with a good variety of refillable savouries and sweets with a choice of either coffee or tea.

Savouries - Sardine puff, Vegetable spring roll and Fries with sambal.
The deep fried items were decent, though the choices for savouries are much more limited compared to sweet.

Ta dah! The friendly wait staff delivering an array of delectable sweet treats to our table.
From left : Paris Brest, Opera Cake, Lemon Tart, Meringue, Chocolate Mousse and Magdeleine.
Feel free to help yourself with more, be it savouries or sweets.
Items served will be on a rotation basis daily. It's a pity we didn't get to try macaron during our visit. Oh well.... nevertheless, it was a wonderful le gouter.

After our relaxing tea session, we also stayed on for dinner. Brasserie 25 modern cuisine uses fresh, locally produced ingredients offering an exquisite dining experience.

Warm baguette with unsalted butter to kick-start our dinner.

House Pouring Red Wine
Chateau St Martin, Bordeaux, France RM45 per glass/ RM200 per bottle
Medium-bodied red with lingering fruitiness, perfect companion for the evening.
Besides red and white, an extensive selection of champagne, sparkling, rose, and dessert are available to complement your elegant meal.

French Martini RM30
If you are a cocktail lover, Brasserie 25 also offers an array of unique French cocktail.
This delicious concoction contains vodka, creme de mure and pineapple has a delicate balance of sweet and sour, simply refreshing.

Baked burgundy escargots generously laden with aromatic garlic herb butter was brilliant in texture and flavour.

Salade De Tomates RM30
Cherry and vine ripen tomatoes topped with feta cheese and vanilla scented vinaigrette, perfect combination of sweet and salty to tantalize the taste buds.

Soupe A L'oignon RM30
Comforting French onion soup with croutons and cheese. Flavour wise is good, but IMHO it would taste even better if the texture was a tad thicker.

Foie Gras Poele RM50
Creamy in texture and savoury in flavour, the delectable pan-seared foie gras was served with warm onion marmalade and spice bread.

Poulet Roti RM60
One of the signature dishes, the half roasted chicken was extremely juicy and tender, accompaniment with sauteed mushroom, winter vegetables and mashed potato.

Joue De Boeuf Braisee RM120

The highlight of our dinner! Wonderfully braised, the beef cheek was marvellous in both flavour and texture. The portion was good enough for sharing too. Must try!

L'entrecote De Boeuf RM120
Ordered mine medium rare and it was done to my preferred doneness. The 200 days well marbled grain-fed Angus rib-eye was grilled to slightly charred with a grilled fragrance and served with french fries and lush brandy cream sauce.

Well-marbled and succulent, the steak was brown and crispy on the outside, pink and juicy on the inside.

Carre D'Agneau En Croute D'Herbes RM120
Mouth-watering tender rack of lamb roasted with herbs and honey to my desired doneness, drizzled with mint mustard sauce and mashed potato on the side.

Truffle Fries Rm15

Truffle Mashed Potatoes RM15
An elegant twist on the classic mashed potatoes, this is pure perfection. Lusciously creamy and delicious with the addition of the truffle oil.

La Creme Brulee RM20
Divine classic French dessert with just the right amount of sweetness.

Grand Marinier Souffle with Vanilla Ice Cream RM30
Freshly baked upon order, do note that the souffle required waiting time of 20 min.
