Junior Sous Chefs Take Over the Buffet Spread @ Nook, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral

This August, the Junior Sous Chefs at Nook, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral namely Chef Izmin, Chef Wan and Chef Ahmad are in the spotlight as they will feature their specialities on the buffet counter. 

First up is Mohd Izmin Khairi bin Ismail, better known as Chef Izmin with over 10 years of culinary experience. The 27 year old chef has been a huge fan of pasta since he was a little boy and his passion for Italian food grew with him. This led to him to pursue a career in culinary and had the opportunity to train under Chef Samuele Alvisi at Prego, The Westin Kuala Lumpur’s Italian restaurant, to specialise in Italian cuisine. 

Diners can indulge in some of his sumptuous Italian dishes on the buffet spread, including his specialities, Polpette Al Formagio e Pomodoro and Salmone Putanesca.

For some Mexican flair, Muhammad Ridzuan Bin Leman, fondly referred to as Chef Wan, will be presenting his favourite Mexican cuisine. The 28 year old Penang born chef, has been in the culinary world for the past nine years and his love for the Mexican cuisine boils down to the cuisines rich flavours and the use of healthy ingredients. 

Amongst the dishes that Chef Wan will be presenting are his two specialities Lamb Fajitas and Mexican Chicken Lasagna.

Last but not least, Chef Ahmad Shahlan Othman, a highly experienced chef who specialised in Malaysian and fusion cuisines. The Kedah-born chef has more than 20 years of experience.

He will be presenting his Malaysian favourite which includes his two popular dishes such as Smoked Beef Brisket with Yellow Sauce and his very own recipe of Fried Prawn ‘Sambal’ Style.

The buffet will also feature an array of Indian and Chinese dishes including a noodle station where pasta were made a la minute.

Take your pick from a variety of ingredients such as mussels, stingray, mackerel, prawn and squid for Chef to whip up the delectable spicy and sour Assam Pedas before your very eyes.

Rich and aromatic Asam Pedas sure to tantalize your taste buds. 

The dessert station showcases a selection of sweet delights for guests to indulge in.

Nook serves local and international flavours on its breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet spreads. Among the local favourites and Chef’s recommendations are, Sarawak Laksa - creamy and spicy noodle dish, made with paste specially ordered from Sarawak; Nook’s Beef Burger - juicy patty, grilled to perfection and Nasi Lemak – Malaysia’s favourite rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves and Chicken Rice – a Hainanese special.

Nook’s buffet dinner is priced at RM118nett per adult and RM59 per child for kids aged 6-12 years old from Sunday to Thursday.
