Tommy Thongchai Thai Gastrobar @ The Square, Jaya One

With an uncountable F&B establishment, The Square, Jaya One is never short of places to eat. Tommy Thongchai is one such wonderful restaurant that is worth visiting. This Thai gastrobar is the ideal spot to chill and unwind whilst enjoying delectable Thai fusion food and innovative cocktails.



On our visit, we sampled a variety of signature dishes, without further ado, here are some of the highlights.

Thongchai Mango Salsa Nachos' RM16 Medium RM28 Extra large
Crisp wanton skin nacho laden with mango salsa and coriander aioli.

Thongchai's Sizzling Caesar RM26
Romaine lettuce drizzled with Thongchai's caesar dressing and topped with spam croutons and onsen egg.

Kale Salad with a Crunch RM22
Fresh kale coated with thongchai's kale dressing and Thai chili flakes, tangy with a hint of spicy, super appetising.

Yum Som-O (Thai Pomelo Salad) RM26
The mouth-watering salad features imported Thai pomelo, prawns and yum some-o dressing was delicious and packed with flavors and textures.

Tommy's Platter RM85
This scrumptious sharing platter comes loaded with an assortment of fried calamari, fried pork belly, fried pork riblets, chiang mai sausage, pulled pork fries, thongchai's nachos, luncheon meat fries and moo ping skewers, there's something for everyone!

An array of charcoal grilled skewers, take your pick from Black Angus Ribeye, Australian Beef Tongue, Australian Lamb Shoulder, Laarb Moo Tod, Pork Intestine, Pork Belly, Moo Ping or Shitake Mushroom. Price ranges from RM5 to RM19.

Thongchai's Chili Dog RM28
Hotdog stuffed with Chiang Mai sausage, pork ragout and served with fries.

Krapao Pork Burger RM28 (front)
Krapao pork patty, fried egg and Thongchai's fries.

Fried Chicken Som Tam Burger RM28 (middle)
Deep fried chicken thigh, som tam slaw and Thongchai's fries.

Laarb Moo Tod Burger RM28 
Deep fried Thai herb pork patty, laarb slaw and Thongchai's fries.

Black Angus Steak Fries RM127 (285g) RM149 (340g)
Beautifully grilled till fork tender and slightly charred, the grain fed black angus ribeye was served with Thongchai fries.

Pan Seared Salmon Trout with Mango Salsa RM59

Pork Trotter Rice RM21
Wonderfully braised, the Thai style braised pork trotter was served with kai lan vege, hanjuku egg and Thai jasmine rice.

Tom Yum Bolognese with homemade Meatball RM23

Thong Kao RM38
A concoction of mango juice, lime, cinnamon, star anise, mekhong rum, sambuca and angustura bitters.

Tom Kha Cocktail RM35
Vodka infused with chili, coconut milk, fresh milk and lemongrass.

Chow Phraya RM42 
Gentle yet robust, a boozy concoction made from Phraya rum, Mekhong rum, bitters, lime and mint.

Dimly lit, the restaurant exudes a cosy and inviting atmosphere, it is the perfect place to unwind after a hard day at work or catching up with friends over delectable food and drinks.
