Go Further with Shell Fuelsave Diesel Euro 5

Shell FuelSave Diesel Euro 5 has been officially launched tonight by Shell Malaysia at Koperasi Pekerja-Pekerja Shell Malaysia, NKVE-Damansara Highway. Shell Fuelsave Diesel Euro 5 builds on Shell's previous initiatives such the Shell FuelSave Challenge and Shell FuelSave College Competition, which aim to build awareness for fuel-saving.  The new fuel also aims to provide customers with high quality, fuel-efficient diesel that is compatible with modern diesel engines that require low sulphur fuel.

Shell FuelSave Diesel Euro 5 is now available at selected site throughout Peninsular Malaysia, in accordance with Shell's plan to ensure that high quality diesel is available for its customers. Shell also aims to invest into its expansive network to quickly extend availability at more locations.

In its efforts to encourage drivers to be more fuel efficient on the road, Shell Malaysia is also partnering with premium automaker BMW Group Malaysia. The premium automaker have been driving for the introduction of Euro 5 specified fuel since 2009 when the a fleet of BMW Advanced Diesel vehicles are introduced as part of the BMW Efficient Dynamics program.

Shell FuelSave Diesel Euro 5 features Active Efficiency Ingredients, which is designed to improve engine efficiency from the very first tank, helping vehicles use less fuel quickly. It also has a special detergent designed to maintain engine condition by preventing the build-up of injector deposits.

The fuel has an ultra-low sulphur content of only 10 parts per million (ppm) of sulphur compared with 500 ppm of sulphur in Shell FuelSave Diesel Euro2M. When used with compatible Euro 5 engines, Shell FuelSave Diesel Euro 5 enables the advanced engine and emission control systems to perform optimally, just as they were designed to, while reducing emissions.

Electric Run Malaysia 2015 Presented by Shell FuelSave @ Selangor Turf Club

Wootz... Still so excited of my first night run. I’ve never been a runner. To me, running is monotonous and tiring. But for the first time ever, the world's most popular night fun run, Electric Run held at Selangor Turf Club with thumping music, colourful neon and bright lights is so much fun.

Group pic with the awesome Tedmi team.

The run organized by the Livescape group is presented by leading fuel retailers, Shell Malaysia under the Shell FuelSave brand - the company's superior fuel efficiency product.

Over 10,000 participants from all walks of life, run, walk and dance across the electrifying 5km course. Stunning colourful lights dominated the electric wonderland, as participants, both young and old came in their most vibrant outfits. Electric Run Malaysia 2015 presented by Shell FuelSave also entered The Malaysia Book of Records for the title of 'Largest Participation in a Neon Run'. Iqbal Ameer, Group CEO of The Livescape Group and Tuan Haji Azman Ismail, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd accepted the certificate for this record title from Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, Founder and Managing Director of The Malaysia Book of Records, before the start of the run.

The run was flagged off by Tuan Haji Azman Ismail, Au Tong Sing, National Sales Manager of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd, Ben Mahmud, Head of Retail Marketing of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell FuelSave Ambassador, Fahrin Ahmad saw the crowd cheering with excitement as a cannonball of fireworks signaled the start of the run. Local DJ, Shaheed Naz of DANGERDISKO entertained us with pulsating beats on our illuminated journey.

THE COURSELAND

First Courseland, Neffmau5 Land, an ethereal wonderland of neon trees and sky lanterns.

Next, weathered the storm at Rainforest with glowing umbrellas hanging overhead and the soothing sound of the forest in the background.

Rainbow Road with technicolour arches of light.

The stunning aquatic paradise decorated with brightly lit, giant marine life at Under The Sea.

My favourite Courseland, the Candy Lane. A treat for those with a sweet tooth, the wonderland of sweets brought to life with the delightful fragrance of cotton candy, vanilla, popcorn and cinnamon.

Spotted my FB friend, Evy there too.

And finally, I've reached the finish Line.

That's not the end of the run, as we get to partied with some of the biggest names in Malaysian music, including acts like Enterprise, Paperplane Pursuit, Kyoto Protocol, Jin Hackman and Dae Kim, and Nesh and TRuF. The Electric Run was then ended on a high note with a spectacular fireworks show.

I'm electrified! Thank you Shell Malaysia for having me. :D

TIPS!!! 5 WAYS TO HELP YOU RUNNING (AND DRIVING) EFFICIENTLY.

Lighten up to go the distance.
The more weight you carry, the more fuel you'll need to burn to keep going. So go light with your running gear as well as your car boot, to stay efficient.

Run smoother with the right kind of energy.
A well-oiled machine needs the right kind of energy to last the long run. So fill up on energy foods before the run. Don't forget to use Shell Helix to keep your car engine running under optimum conditions.

Cover more miles on a full tank.
The right kind of fuel ensure you perform at your best. Keep your body hydrated at all times. And fill your car tanks with Shell FuelSave, to help you go further.

Stay on track with the right kind of pressure.
Your safety on the road depends on how you make contact with it. Choosing the right shoes for a run can give your feet support and keep you safe. Just like choosing the right tyres and making sure they're inflated with the right pressure.

Last the long run by keeping your machine tuned.
The engine is the heart of a car. Just like your heart, you need to keep it in shape. Stay healthy by running regularly. And you can keep your engine run smoothly with regular tune-ups and oil changes.

Welcome to Shell - Redefining Hospitality on Malaysian Roads

Tuan Haji Azman Ismail, Managing Director Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. and Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd (centre) with the Shell service crew at the launch of Welcome to Shell on 12 August 2015.

With over 45,000 retail stations in more than 80 countries, Shell's is the world's largest fuels retail business. Today, Shell Malaysia kicked-off “Welcome to Shellmulti-year transformational programme that takes its cue from the hospitality industry to treat motorists as “guests”. Through meaningful personalized service, it aims to deliver the highest standard of customer satisfaction and experience at Shell stations nationwide

Malaysia is the first market in Asia to launch the Welcome to Shell programme, which will be rolled out in phases. The comprehensive transformation will takes about 3 years to complete which include service and hospitality training for exceptional customer experiences. To make each and every visit a positive experience for customers, 8,000 service staff will undergo a comprehensive on-site training which will be completed by 2016. It is the biggest ever training programme undertaken in the history of Shell.

Shell will also revamp selected Shell Select stores to a new award-winning retail design and launch its own in-house food and beverage section under its deli2go brand, which offers freshly brewed coffee and pastries baked on-site. New and improved facilities are further planned for particular stations from now until 2017These include suraus (prayer rooms) and toilets, dedicated seating lounges with Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as device charging stations.

Shell will also continue its leadership in safety standards under Welcome to Shell. Motorists can confidently turn into Shell stations if they require assistance while on the road, as station staff are trained and equipped to respond to customers in a variety of emergency situations.

As one of the leading fuels retailer in the country, Shell is dedicated to listen to its customers and constantly working to improve its service. In a survey feedback by Shell conducted in May 2015 revealed that nearly three-quarters (72%) of survey participants, planned stops at service stations during their journey to relax. An overwhelming majority of respondents (95%) also indicated friendly store staff as vital to a positive retail experience. Respondents also revealed that, as motorists, they wanted to enjoy fresh food and beverages (94%) and a welcoming area for them to sit and relax (90%) when they visited retail stores.

While Welcome to Shell will be an ongoing journey, Malaysian motorists will begin to see more of these new enhancements and improvements as the programme continues to roll-out across the nation over the next three years.

Held for the fourth consecutive year, the Shell FuelSave College Competition which is an initiative by Shell Malaysia, challenged students from public and private universities to plan and execute an integrated marketing and communications campaign to promote and educate Malaysia’s Gen Y drivers on fuel efficiency and smarter driving habits.

The competition aims at providing participating tertiary students a chance to experience the working environment within the marketing and communications industry and to gain deeper insights in the process of conceptualising and executing a campaign from start to end.

This year challenge teams are from Monash University, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Help University, UCSI University, Sunway University, IACT College, Taylor's University, Universiti Putra Malaysia, National University of Malaysia(UKM) and Universiti Teknologi Mara(UITM) This year the competition took a new turn and required the participating teams to take their campaigns beyond their campus to the general public.

ii.        Champion -IACT College

iii.       1st Runner up - Taylor’s University

Their main task this year was to drive as many people as possible to make a commitment to practice fuel efficiency by making a #ShellPledge. Teams conducted a month-long social media campaign that promoted practicing fuel efficiency and encouraged people to participate in the #ShellPledge contest. They also ran on-ground activities where they brought their campaigns to the public in their efforts to recruit Malaysians to make the #ShellPledge.

Speaking at the event, Tuan Haji Azman, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd said, "This year we raised the bar for the participating teams by challenging them to reach out to the public to promote the #ShellPledge contest. And they really showed us their creativity, critical thinking and innovation skills in their campaign execution. It was very interesting and rewarding to see the way they utilise their social media platforms to capture the attention of the public and get them to take the #ShellPledge."
We are entertained by performance of Elizabeth Tan

Then it's comedy time with Kuah JenHan. Very talented guy!

The campaign journey for the teams this year started in September with a briefing and mentoring session by industry experts to coach them on how to put together a successful marketing and communications campaign to motivate their audience to take the #ShellPledge. They then presented their proposals to a panel of judges for approval before executing their plans.

In a final bid to gain points to win the competition, the teams gave it their all in a Bonus Round Challenge earlier today. They had to complete a series of three challenges that were based on the Shell FuelSave Tips which tested their knowledge on fuel efficiency and smarter mobility.

"The Shell FuelSave College Competition is part of Shell's efforts to reach the younger generation and educate them on the importance of practicing smarter mobility to enjoy improved fuel efficiency. Through this initiative and its relevant activities such as the #ShellPledge, we hope to inculcate in our future leaders the value of being environmentally conscious and encourage them start doing their part now to achieve a sustainable energy future," added Tuan Haji Azman.

Taylor's University was the first runner-up winning RM8000 and a trophy while Universiti Putra Malaysia was the second runner up taking home RM5000 and a trophy as well. In addition to the prizes for the winning teams, a special award was presented to IACT College for collecting the most pledges for the #ShellPledge contest.
