Paradiso Cafe and Patisserie @ Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara

Latest new kids on the block of Sunway Nexis, Paradiso Cafe and Pattisserie are owned by Malaysia's top chef Azizan Shukri. Chef Azizan well-known for his fine Italian cuisine has cooked for Bill Clinton, Michelle Yeoh and former prime minister Tun Abdullah Badawi. I am honoured to be invited for a preview of his cuisine before his restaurant is officially open.

SALAD 

FRUIT SALAD RM32

Colourful fresh salad with kiwi, strawberry, peach, mango served with mesclum, honey vinaiggrette, mustard and olive oil. So appetizing!

PRAWN & COCKTAIL RM28
Try this, if you fancy a little seafood in your greens. Bring usual salad to a whole new level, with sweet succulent poached prawn dipped in the creamy chilli mayo and mesclun finishing.

SOUP

MUSHROOM SOUP RM13
Mushroom soup served with in-house made charcoal bread bowl. Must try!
The top cover is crusty and lightly toasted with garlic butter. Pipping hot thick and rich in flavour soup with generous crunchy button mushroom. 

PASTA

DUO SPAGHETTINI AGLIO OLIO RM48
Al dente black and white pasta tossed with abundant offer of fresh seafoods, rocket salad and olive.
Simply taste good and satisfying, just terrific.

MAIN COURSE

SALMON TROUT RM48
Pan-seared juicy fresh salmon trout served with in-house made creamy lemon butter and dill herbs sauce. The salmon is moist and tasty while the crispy skin is such a treat. I would prefer if the sauce has a much stronger lemon taste though.

RACK OF LAMB RM60

Perfectly done rack of lamb served with mint, capers and cream sauce.

Well seasoned, tender and juicy lamb to die for. Balance your taste bud with the sweet pineapple tart.

DESSERTS 

Sinfully good Chocolate Crunchy Mousse Cake RM18.

QUENCHER RM12.50

1) Bubble Gum - Mango juice with peach lychee and green apple.
2) Lime Mistic - Lime juice with green apple and blue lagoon.
3) Cooler Paradiso - Apple Juice with green apple, lychee blood orange and mint.
4) Pink Panther - Cranberry juice with strawberry and peach.
5) Cranberry Mint - Cranberry juice with lychee and mint.
6) Sparkling Kiwi Granite - Lime juice with kiwi lychee and green apple.

Cosy ambiance, wood toned tables and chairs, the interior are brightly lit with natural light.

All in all, it was an amazing dining experience at Paradiso. Stunning edible flowers food plating and delicious foods that will tickle your taste buds. This is the best place to impress someone special with an unique beautiful dining experience. Truly amazing!

Rail Canteen @ Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara

Do you know Kluang Station Kopitiam has the most lip-smackingly good local delights? Well the good news is, today, you need not travel all the way to Kluang for your foodie adventure. Rail Canteen has been brought to Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara and is operated by the 4th generation of Kluang Station Kopitiam founder. 

One of the highly recommended has to be Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah RM12.60

Fragrant coconut milk rice served with crunchy anchovies and peanuts. The whole chicken leg is deep-fried to perfection and full of spiced aroma.

Meehoon Siam RM6.50

Zesty and spicy old school fried rice vermicelli, so awesome and appetizing.

Here at Rail Canteen, you are given an option of 5 different types of in-house made sambal to go along with your dishes. From sambal udang, sambal ikan bilis, sambal bawang, sambal kerang and sambal sotong. It can be fire on your tongue for some, but I find it just right for my preference.

Mee Kari RM11.50

Curry lovers, you definitely have to try this. Not a fan of curry mee, still I find myself digging in for more all because of the rich and flavouful broth goes so well with the noodles.

Mee Rebus RM11.50

A tad sweet and lack of flavour for my preferences.

Rendang Kambing RM9.00

Fork tender meat, good to eat with steamy hot plain white rice.

Hainanese Chicken Chop RM16.90

Generous portion of boneless whole leg deep-fried so crispy outside, yet soft and moist inside.

Bun Sambal Special RM4.50

Roti Bakar RM3.50

Kopi Ais Rm3.80

Ice Dragon Passion RM6.80 (Must try)

This is one interesting combination that may not please everyone. It's definitely a 'yes' to me, while my friend feels otherwise.

My verdict : Affordable, traditional foods that are awesomely good. Love the simple interior decor that reminiscent the original Kluang Station Kopitiam.

Ala-carte Japanese Buffet @ Aoki-Tei Japanese Restaurant, Sunway Nexis

Hey, foodies! New kids on the block of Sunway Nexis, Aoki-Tei Japanese Restaurant offer affordable and decent ala carte Japanese buffet. Aoki-Tei is actually owned by Umai-Ya Japanese Restaurant, with a different dining concept. Instead of Umai-Ya weekend buffet, Aoki-Tei ala carte buffet is available everyday for lunch and dinner. Happy to share with you this new eatery, as I was there for a lunch appointment recently.

Lunch RM58++ (11.30am-2.30pm) including beer
Dinner RM78++ (6.00pm-10.30pm) including beer & sake

I've had my fair share of sashimi, it was incredible!

Yum yum....

Tempura Mori, fried crispy, addictive for sure.

Fried soft shell crab, fresh and pipping hot, must try!

Mouth-watering soft shell crab maki.

Fried salmon fish head. 

Endamame.

Skewer grilled prawn with sauce is slight overcooked.

Beef negi.

Salmon fish head soup. IMO, it's a tad heavy on the salt. 

Final round of sashimi.

And here come the desserts, ice-cream! Available flavours include chocolate, vanilla, green tea and wasabi.

The chef is slicing fresh sashimi.

I love the cute wall art and cosy ambiance.

Since Sunway Nexis is a new establishment, ample parking are available at the basement carpark. All in all, foods are decent with excellent service and accommodating staff.
