Ala-carte Japanese Buffet @ Aoki-Tei Japanese Restaurant, Sunway Nexis

Hey, foodies! New kids on the block of Sunway Nexis, Aoki-Tei Japanese Restaurant offer affordable and decent ala carte Japanese buffet. Aoki-Tei is actually owned by Umai-Ya Japanese Restaurant, with a different dining concept. Instead of Umai-Ya weekend buffet, Aoki-Tei ala carte buffet is available everyday for lunch and dinner. Happy to share with you this new eatery, as I was there for a lunch appointment recently.

Lunch RM58++ (11.30am-2.30pm) including beer
Dinner RM78++ (6.00pm-10.30pm) including beer & sake

I've had my fair share of sashimi, it was incredible!

Yum yum....

Tempura Mori, fried crispy, addictive for sure.

Fried soft shell crab, fresh and pipping hot, must try!

Mouth-watering soft shell crab maki.

Fried salmon fish head.

Endamame.

Skewer grilled prawn with sauce is slight overcooked.

Beef negi.

Salmon fish head soup. IMO, it's a tad heavy on the salt.

Final round of sashimi.

And here come the desserts, ice-cream! Available flavours include chocolate, vanilla, green tea and wasabi.

The chef is slicing fresh sashimi.

I love the cute wall art and cosy ambiance.

Since Sunway Nexis is a new establishment, ample parking are available at the basement carpark. All in all, foods are decent with excellent service and accommodating staff.

AROI DEE THAI RESTAURANT AND COURTYARD @ PALM GARDEN HOTEL

Palm Garden Hotel, Aroi Dee Thai Restaurant is located in a serene surroundings perfect especially on a breezy evening to enjoy exceptionally good Thai and Nyonya cuisine.

Entrance of Palms Cafe

Incidentally, the restaurant's name itself "Aroi Dee' means Good Taste in Thai language and promising satisfaction for every guest that dines here with it's ala carte menu.

Heading the kitchen is Chef Seeri a/l Din Ren with 25 years of experience working in several Thai restaurants in Malaysia and Singapore. One of his most prominent experiences is serving the Sultan of Brunei for 4 years along with other Chefs. With his diverse background and experience, Chef Seeri prepares cuisine from all areas of Thailand as well as Nyonnya and local cuisine.

Red Tom Yam Soup (Seafood)
One of my top recommendation would be the Red Tom Yam Soup. Perfectly done with balance of sour, sweet, spice and herbs within.

Kaw Phad Sapporat (Fried Rice with Pineapples)
Love it's colour! Delicious fried rice with generous serving of cashew nuts.
Keng Keaw Wan (Green Curry with Chicken)
Thai foods is not complete without the green curry. Spicy comforter, I truly enjoyed the creamier texture.

Kung Phad Prik Pow (Sauteed Prawns with Roasted Chillis)
Fresh prawn with fragrant of chillis but not too spicy.

Tippan Ngubak (Sizzling Beef Nyonya Style)
Beef cooked just right coupled with the bell pepper is truly satisfaction.

Enche Kabin (Nyonya Style Fried Chicken)
I love this the most, enjoying every bite of it. Crispy skin yet so moist and tender meat inside.

Plar Neang Pek Sak (Seabass Steamed Thai Style)
Very fresh succulent and sweet seabass with slight sourish spicy, it's really appetizing.

Kaa Na Phad Kratian (Fried Hong Kong Kale with Sliced Garlic)
Fresh vege done just right.

Water Chestnut
Extremely thick coconut milk, this is an awesome desserts to end the meal. Crunchy chestnut coupled with sweet jackfruit bites! I could not resist for second serving. 😅

Restaurant Aroi Dee Thai recently moved to a new location which is at the Palms Cafe Terrace area. Do check out the good Thai and Nyonya meal available here.

PERAHU RESTAURANT @ AVANI SEPANG GOLDCOAST RESORT DINNER BY THE BEACH

Perahu is one of the highly raved restaurant at Avani Sepang Goldcoast. So of course, it's mandatory to visit this restaurant. Located quite a distance outside of Avani Sepang Goldcoast, it takes at least 20 minute to walk over there. Else you can always request the friendly bellboy or guards for van or buggy to send you over.

Al fresco dining by the beach. Lovely decor of table.

Each table equipped with a standing fan to keep the mozzies away.

Beautiful view of sunset earlier.

Enjoying the breeze... 😍

The restaurant start operation at 6pm be sure to reach on time, so you could catch the sunset view. Sadly, during my visit it's kinda hazy therefore I'm not able to capture nice sunset pictures. Oh ya... it is advisable to make reservation as the seats are limited.

Cracking head on what to order is my ultimate role forever.... LOL

Complimentary sourdough bread serve with olive oil, vinegar and ... (Sorry, I don't remember) Freshly made bread taste the best....

Lobster bisque, goat cheese spring roll(Rm24) freshly pour out in front of my very eyes...  Average, not very strong of lobster's taste but milky enough. 😋

Black cod fillet, sweet potato mash, charred jalapeño-basil vinaigrette (Rm70) Fillet is fresh but lack of seasoning taste. Only taste good when pair with the fish's skin else it taste kinda bland. Sweet potato mash is yummy though.

Pan seared red grouper fillet, spicy mango salsa & glaze, pesto baby potatoes (Rm80) Same goes for this grouper fillet, due to thicker fillet it's feels like not seasoned enough. Good thing is the fish texture and freshness is alright.

Bon appetite~~~~

Dinner overlooking this view feels like heaven! Lol

The decoration on the table turns out to be a solar table lamp as the night get darks.

Lemongrass creme brulee, citrus-ginger ragout, orange sorbet (Rm16)  Desserts presentation is pretty but taste wise is just alright! Not very good, but not that bad either. 😁

My verdict, average foods with excellent food presentation coupled with a great service with a smile. It's definitely worth to check out this place at least for once!!!

Mezza9, Publika Solaris Dutamas

Tried out Mezza9 at Publika, Solaris Dutamas during one of the weekend. It's a restaurant + bar concept thus the interior is dimly lighted and we are seated on bar stool with bar table. Arriving at 6.30pm, we are the only customer around. In my heart, I console myself that the night is still young. Haha... I don't usually walk into an empty restaurant!

We had the whole restaurant to ourself!

Escargot in chili oil is very oily and a lil over done. Serve with white bread, I find the combination a bit off.
Wild mushroom soup is made from scratch I suppose, served pipping hot and I couldn't resist stealing few spoonful from my other half! Lol
Fresh oyster, very fresh indeed! Thumbs up!

I had the tenderloin with red wine sauce.
They offer 3 type of sauces, beside red wine it will be the more common black pepper and mushroom.
I make the right choice! The red wine sauce taste very special, a bit sweetish but rich.

Can't wait to dig in... 😅

The tenderloin is perfectly done to my order. Each bite is heaven! It's very lean so I got no worries of FATS!!!! Hahaha....

We also get 2 different flavour of half pizza and Haiwaiian taste the best while the lamb pizza is nothing to shout about.

Oh boy... I must share this deal they are having. Wine buffet! For only RM55 per person you could drink all the wine you want, be it Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Riesling etc. There's 15-20 bottles, that you could help yourself with.

As we done with our meal, there's few table that came in for the wine buffet. They are inked on their wrist for recognition and they are free to fill up whichever wine they like!

I am not in a mood for a drink else I've surely grab this deal too! Will I return again? Definitely yes! They serve plain water on the house too.

Thai Fish Farm, Hulu Langat

Randomly suggested this place for dinner, and after half an hour of car ride finally reached the destination from KL town. This restaurant is nearby to the Ampang Look Out Point. Look out for the signage right after the Gasoline cafe and be warned that the roads leading into the restaurant is kinda rough so drive with caution. I am amazed by the surrounding, it has a big man made pond and very greenery scenery.
It could occupied up to 100 table and even have a stage where they will perform oldies love song.
Almost all table is taken, we are lucky to snap at this one table available.

Selling fresh vegetable from their farm.

This grilled counter is very hot in demand!
Check out the huge oyster.
Check out the extensive menu

From top left: Fish cake, oyster, chili clam, pandan chicken, curry crab and grilled salted tilapia fish.

Fish cake is chewy texture and has those Thai spices fragrant very nice even without dipping the chili sauce. Get only 1pcs of Australian oyster on the rock to tried out cause it cost a whooping Rm10/pcs about size L. Very fresh but I don't think the price is worthy.

Chili clam is quite disappointing as the clam is not meaty even the taste is a let down. Pandan chicken using chicken breast resulting a more dry texture but is full of aroma and flavor, highly recommended.

Curry crab is a nothing to shout about except the Australian crab which taste exceptionally sweet, flaky and very fresh. But this Australian crab cost Rm138/kg double the price of what you could get for local/Indonesia mud crab. Now the star of the night, grilled salted tilapia fish. So the fish is grilled with it's scales on, which kinda turn me off. But upon removing off the layer of skin, ohh.... the flesh is so thick and meaty but there's slight muddy taste. Still, I enjoy it very much. My other half complained that I ordered way too much for 2 person and we end up feeling full like it's a buffet meal. LOL Still no meal is complete without desserts.

Especially when there's mango sticky rice! It's indeed taste very authentic just like what I have in Thai. Got this white kuih too. No idea what's the name.
Night view

Looking forward to bringing my family here next round. Still have lots of dishes like tom yam, prawn and fried spinach to try out. Oh yah... Total damage for our meal is RM190++ with crab being the most expensive at RM80 for a pcs!

Ending this with a fishy selfie 😍
