Weekend getaway to Sekinchan & Pangkor Island - Day One

Pangkor Island is a good choice for a short beach getaway nearest to the Klang Valley. From Klang, the nearest route to get here is via Teluk Intan-Klang trunk roads which will pass by Tanjong Karang, Kuala Selangor, Sekinchan, Sg Besar etc. We started our journey in the morning around 9.30am and plan to have an early lunch at Sekinchan. Reached Sekinchan around 10.30am. We visited the paddy processing factory PLS for a visit to the museum and explanation of the paddy planting process. Here is very popular for their pearl rice. The entrance ticket is RM4 per person and they gave out a small pack of nicely packed rice as souvenir. The whole explanation took about 15min and it's kinda interesting to know more of the rice we eat everyday. Every grain of it is the farmer's hardwork so we should really cherish and don't waste our rice.
Not the right time for paddy field visit
Packing rice in bulk
Something to ponder 😍

Next up suppose to be our early lunch but we overshoot the restaurant and end up reaching Pantai Redang. This is a hidden beach in Sekinchan, that is worth a visit in Sekinchan, particularly if you are tired of repeatedly shooting in the paddy fields. There's a Chinese temple in Pantai Redang with a worship tree nearby. You can write your wishes on a red ribbon and throw up to the tree, so that your wishes may come true. It is kinda tricky to throw it hanging up there, I only manage to succeed after my 2nd attempt. :p
Very red wishing tree
I ❤️ Sekinchan

Finally we found the restaurant for our lunch. No more early, as it's 1.30pm. We settled for Restaurant Cha Po Tien as this place is recommended by my friend from Sekinchan. I ordered the shark fish soup, spicy and sour catfish, fried whole mantis prawn and octopus stir fried with chili. Total bill for 2 person with 1 rice and chinese teapot is only RM58.00 All the foods here are very tasty and the soup is sourish sweet with soft and sweet flesh of shark fish, catfish is very appetizing but it can be a little too spicy for those that can't take spicy. Octopus is cooked just nice with it's springy texture. Only disappointment are the mantis prawn which is not very fresh.

The hidden restaurant
Most dishes here are sourish spicy

So, we continue our journey after got the tummy satisfied. It's another 2 hours drive till we reach Lumut. Ferry ticket is RM10 for both way. I bought my ticket from Pan Silver Ferry. After almost half hour ferry ride we finally reach Pangkor Island.

Rented a car for RM120 3days as it's more convenient to move around the island. There are motorbike available at RM30per day too.
A lot of pink taxi awaiting for customer

Upon check in hotel, we walk to Bogak beach for picture session.
Very cosy hotel
Beautiful sunset pic taken by my 5S 😍
Still 5s pic

Deliver Us From Evil - Sneak Preview

Yesterday went for the sneak preview of the horror film Deliver Us From Evil. Thanks to my friend Sherry for inviting me. :)
Thank you, Sherry! 😍
Too bad she's not in luck for the lucky draw prize.

This film stars Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Chris Coy, Dorian Missick, Joel McHale, Sean Harris, Lulu Wilson, Olivia Horton, Scott Johnsen and Daniel Sauli. In Deliver Us From Evil, New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Towards the end, a lot's of ridiculous exorcism ritual.

So am I scared? Well, the scares were mainly because of the disturbing and gory images of death or possession scenes. But what really got me scared is particularly from the animals.

It's a two hours film and it does lose some steam in the between due to the frequent sudden changing of scene plot. Basically it's not really scary, but still it's a creepy exorcism movie.

Overall, from my personal opinion, this movie is not really worth watching and can be quite boring.

Kyochon Korean Fried Chicken

So everything about the Korean seem to be the in things nowadays. Coffee, cake, pastry and now even their fried chicken! All thanks to Cheon Song Yi(character from  drama My love from another star) fried chicken with beer craving! Haha....
Got the leng chai standee to welcome u!

One fine day, running out of idea what to eat for dinner, I spotted this Restaurant Kyochon. Ok so the name sound interesting enough and there seem to be quite a few table of patron.
Very warm tone and earthy feel...

So this place is famous for their South Korean fried chicken which establish since 1991 in Korea and over the years had franchise all around the world.
This outlet in One U is open end of last year.
This is the flavor of the chicken
Ala carte menu
Ice lemon tea with appetizer
This is the mixed of red and soy sauce series
Fresh salad
We had the dinner set for 2 person at RM59.90

Overall my verdict, it's nothing to be shout about except that the chicken remain crispy even when it's cold. Soy sauce has it's fragrant taste while the red is spicy hot enough! However, it's not really value for money due to the small serving but it's a good experience to try something new.

Doubt I'll have a second visit here....

Restauran Bubur Goreng, Berkeley Klang

Mantis prawn craving, checked! Finally I got my hands on mantis prawn after few sold out visit to the Restaurant Bubur Goreng in Berkeley, Klang.
Today I'm a happy girl as I got my craving fixed! Haha.... We had the beehoon fried with mantis prawn and steamed mantis prawn.

Check out the live mantis prawn...

Fried beehoon with mantis prawn Rm36

Steamed mantis prawn Rm36
Excuse me for the messy plate but this is how you gonna get to the succulent and sweet flesh of mantis prawn.
Happy girl with her well deserved mantis prawn flesh... 😘

On a side note, actually their bubur goreng(fried porridge) is also their signature dish hence the name of the restaurant. The porridge got generous helping of dried squid and I do find it taste too strong. It's still yummy and small serving is just nice. Too bad they sell it in standard size which is too much for 2 person.

Hair cut at Salon 76 MidValley

So it's been a while since my last hair cut or should I say hair trim. Maintained a hair trim every 4-6 months or when my hair screaming for attention = split ends. Was browsing thru those deal site and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Salon76 is offering Rm38 for a haircut by Stylist come with hair wash and blow too. Boy, I gotta snap this deal right away since this is one hot salon raved by blogger every now and then. The salon closed on Mon, while Tuesday is the stylist off day. It's a cosy and spacious salon. I was asked to fill up a personal particular form and waited for a while since I'm earlier than my scheduled appointment.

Entrance of salon

The stylist really study my hair and he emphasis on the balance of the hairstyle and does it suits your particular face. He suggested to cut a U shape for me with slight layer towards the end. Yah... I said go ahead. Just chop off one to two inch, I wanna get rid of split ends.

Stylist working his magic on my hair...

Before hair cut, I had my hair wash first. He recommend me the sparkling scalp wash or know as Tansan. This is a simple scalp and hair treatment, which is done over the basin in a few minutes time. Soda or Co2 is added into the water as my hair is washed. It helps to remove the dirt and excessive oil from the scalp & the silicon on your hair. My hair indeed feel airy and lighter a little I suppose....According to the stylist, this treatment is a very basic in Japan. Everyone is washing their hair plus Tansan. And it's more expensive in Japan.
Dirt from my scalp...

Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience with the stylist and the salon. Thumbs up!
