Modern Australian cuisine @ Bonfire Restaurant & Bar, The Starling Mall


Located in the new lifestyle mall, The Starling at Uptown Damansara, Bonfire prides itself on serving modern Australian cuisine prepared using fresh and quality ingredients in a wood and charcoal fired oven. Their food philosophy is celebration with family and friends, hence the introduction of bountiful sharing platters best to be shared over good conversation and laughter with loved ones.

Red Imperial Ceviche RM24
Beautifully presented, the refreshing and tasty appetizer consists of pucuk gadok, fried ginger, pomelo served with chili with quail egg, pistachio and cinnamon.

 
Braised Wagyu Cheeks RM42
Meltingly tender with deep flavour, the wagyu cheeks served with pumpkin puree and topped with crispy shallots was remarkably tasty. It also comes with broccoli and mushroom pudding with sunny side up. However, IMHO, the portion size does not justify the price tag.

 
Big Bonfire Platter RM125
The meat platter great for sharing comes in two options.
Choice of 2 meats priced at RM125 (good for 2 persons) or choice of 3 meats (recommended for 3-4 persons) priced at RM165.
You could take your pick from Wagyu Skirt Steak, Whole Red Snapper, Mediterranean Baby Spring Chicken, Rack of Lamb with Tidman Rock Salt or Pineapple Glazed Beef Short Ribs.

 
Whole Red Snapper
The red snapper was perfectly grilled, the only let down was the freshness of the fish, a tad mushy and lack of sweet in taste.

 
Rack of Lamb with Tidman Rock Salt
The lamb grilled to medium rare was incredibly good, flavourful, tender and moist with warm juices. Feel free to savour the entire platter which includes tasty sides of grilled corn and whole garlic.

 
A Midsummer's Dream RM38
Being a true fan of classic cocktails, we are glad to be introduced to these interesting, quirky Asian cocktails which is definitely worth trying. Pretty in pink, wash down your meal with an interesting play of flavours, a refreshing concoction of Ford's Gin, Blood Orange Syrup, Kaffir Lime Leaves, Egg White, Cayenne Pepper and Orange Peel.

 
Asamboi Julep RM40
So tangy and delicious,  a mixture of Makers Mark Bourbon, Don Julio Reposado, tequila, mint leaves, lime juice, asamboi powder, Angostura bitters with simple syrup served in a copper mug.

 
All in all, amazing cocktails, beautiful foods and great athmosphere, we are looking forward to a revisit soon.
