Kluang's Best Attractions - Lembaran Johor Tengah

Having just returned from a media trip to Kluang recently, I'm happy to say that I love Kluang, I truly do! The 2 days 1 night FAM trip hosted in conjunction with the launch of the Lembaran Johor Tengah by YB Chew Chong Sin was amazing and nothing short of fun. If you don't know yet, Lembaran Johor Tengah is one of the government initiatives program initiated by YB Chew Chong Sin for the development of the agricultural and rural sector in Johor through agro-tourism. As promised in the 14th general election, YB Chew has officially launched the Lembaran Johor Tengah campaign at an event held at ZenXin Organic Park attended by members of the media and business entrepreneurs.

Combining the fund resources from the federal government and the local business owners, the agro-tourism offers the tourist a variety of activities relating to the agriculture sector in Kluang, as well as Paloh, Chamek, Niyor, Layang-Layang, Simpang Renggam, Machap, Ayer Hitam and Yong Peng. The development of 'Lembaran Johor Tengah' agro-tourism in Johor will see young people return to the rural communities and play a role in Johor's economic development. Besides being a manufacturing hub, Kluang's rich soil and ample rainfall produce main crop such as corn, pineapple and palm oil. Not to mention, the kopitiam cultures plus there are many tourist attractions and beautiful landscapes worth visiting too. Some of the recommended places includes :

Zenxin Organic Park
All the vegetables at Zenxin Organic Farm are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilisers. You can take a tour to learn about it's organic farming or enjoy a healthy meal at the restaurant. There's also a petting zoo for the kids.

Yum... Nothing beats a healthy and tasty steamboat with organic vegetables fresh from the farm.

UK Farm Agro Resort
Who needs to go to New Zealand when you can get an equally wonderful farm experience at UK Farm Agro Resort. Yes, the above pic was taken at UK Farm, which stands for Un Keng, the name of the owner of the farm.

Get up close and personal with the adorable goats, pet them, feed them, this is definitely an experience worth cherishing for a lifetime. Apart from goats, you can also see ostrichs, peacocks, turkeys, rabbits, monkeys and other animals here.

We are honoured to have the friendly and down-to-earth YB Chew Chong Sin joining us on the fam trip.

Aw Pottery (Machap)
Founded by the late Aw Eng Kwang, fans of ceramic-ware should make time to visit Aw Pottery! Did you know that the masterpieces of Mr Aw are still on display at Malaysia National Museum and the Singapore National Museum? How amazing is that!

Probably the most instagrammable restrooms in Malaysia!

Dubbed the dragon kiln, the 50 metre long wood-fire kiln was built by Mr Aw to bake his ceramics.

Ling Nam Coffeeshop (Paloh)

Nothing beats classic old-school brekkie with the best coffee in town at the historic Ling Nam Coffeeshop.

This 80 years old coffeeshop not only served the best freshly brewed coffee and signature kaya toast, but it also showcases lots of gems and priceless antiques. For instance, the brown cupboard next to me is actually a vintage safe box. *jaw drops*

Paloh Railway Station
Before roads were built, you can only reach Paloh by train. So here we are, reminiscing the good old days of the railway ride.

The ride from Paloh to Kluang took about half an hour.

A Kluang trip would not be complete without visiting the iconic Kluang Rail Coffee.

Gunung Lambak
If you're a fan of hiking or trekking, you'll love coming to the Gunung Lambak. The small mountain surrounded by lush greenery has numerous jungle trails perfect for a moderate hiking experience. I can't wait to come back in my sports gear to conquer the peak!

Jalan Ismail (Kluang Old Street)
That old school vibes at one of the pre-war shophouses in the old city area.

Pineapple Plantation (Simpang Renggam)
Did you know Johor is Malaysia's biggest pineapple plantation with more than 2000 pineapple farmers and owners? Malaysia is also one of the major producers of pineapple other than Thailand and the Philippines. It was really fun to venture into the pineapples plantation with a 4WD which literally left us awestruck walking down the mesmerizing pineapples maze.

From growing until harvesting, it was such an eye-opening experience visiting the pineapples plantation.

Look at those bright golden yellow pineapples. It was very juicy and sweet too.

Kluang Coffee Cap Televisyen
Established since 1966, the ‘Television Brand’ coffee is also fondly known as ‘Sultan Coffee’ by many government officials and locals because it's his highness favourite coffee too.

The superior aroma and great taste of Television Brand Kluang coffee makes this the ideal souvenirs to buy in Kluang.

OMG....  have you ever seen so many pigs before? Sorry for the non halal pic. :p
But seriously, this place served the most amazing roast pork, it was so good that I'm happily chomping down bite after bite although it's supper time. *guilty supper pleasure*
