Minamotonoya Cafe @ Sri Petaling (Non halal)

The new kids on the block of Glass City at Sri Petaling, would be the Minamotonoya Cafe. This is a small cosy cafe serving fusion Japanese cuisine. But what makes this cafe really special would be the Mizu Shingen Mochi aka Water Cake which cooking up a storm in Japan. If you wanna get a taste of this unique desserts make your way to Minamotonoya Cafe now as they are the 1st in Malaysia to offer this.

Started my lunch with Green Tea Latte RM7.90
A tad milky for my preference.
Cafe Latte RM7.90

Bacon Egg Sandwiches RM10.90
Decent bacon served with ciabatta bun all is homemade from scratch.

Wafu Shimeji Mushroom Aglio-Oglio RM10.90
Wafu means 'Japanese Style'
Al dente pasta comes with generous serving of mushroom.

Teriyaki Chicken Spaghetti RM13.90
Perfectly cooked teriyaki chicken, this is slight wet version.

Spaghetti Cheese Pork Chop RM15.90
The pipping hot pork chop with oozing cheese really rocks.

Tofu Cheese Cake RM9.90

Smooth and creamy, rich in tofu taste.
A little too rich for my taste.

Mizu Shingen Mochi RM6.90
Served with the soybean powder and brown sugar syrup.
Must try and make sure you take lots of pic! 😜

This is seriously cute so let me take a selfie first. Sticky with soft jelly texture, apparently it's tasteless, so make sure you eat with the soybean powder and syrup.

  1. For such a cute place, your rating was pretty low. May I know why? Aside from the Green Tea Latte, you seemed to like everything just fine.

  4. The mochi is so cute, a bunny right? And so the tofu cheesecake tasted like tofu for you? That's kinda weird. The tofu cheesecake we have here still taste like cheesecake, just that the texture is so smooth it's like eating tofu.....

  7. Why is your rate not that high? The Cafe might not meet on your standards, I guess. ^_^ I'm a fan of spaghetti but not so for Japanese desserts.

  10. What exactly does non-halal mean? Does the restaurant have to announce it outside their door?

    1. My country is a Muslim country, therefore if there's pork served in a restaurant, it's required to be highlighted being Non Halal or Pork Free.
