Christmas Celebration @ Hubba Hubba, Seni Mont Kiara

Last Christmas, I had a Christmas celebration with a few of my blogger friends at Hubba Hubba, Seni Mont Kiara. Hubba Hubba is a gastrolounge located on the 1st floor of the Seni Mont Kiara condo.

We kick-started the night with a tasty combination of salad and pasta.

Chicken Wings RM16
Appetising deep fried chicken wings with curry leaves, chilli padi and onions. This is highly recommended.

Hubba Popcorn Chicken RM16
The soft and tender boneless chicken is just mouth-watering.
Full Monty RM25
Hubba Hubba's pizza crust is red in colour. The light crust is thin and topped with an abundance of mozzarella cheese, tomato, sausages, meatballs and beef bacon.
Lamb Shank Pie RM32
The pie required 20 min of waiting time is good as a main course. The lamb braised with rosemary, carrot and red wine is easily pulled apart with flavourful gravy, but a tad salty for my taste buds.
Nasi Lemak RM18
For a local fare, the coconut fragrant pandan rice served with crispy anchovies, peanuts, cucumber, boiled egg and chicken rendang did not fail us.  Other local delights include Char Kway Teow, Curry Laksa and Mutton Varuval.
Chicken Wala Wala RM22
Boneless chicken stewed in Indian Makhani onion gravy, served with aromatic Raita and Pulao Rice.
Pommery Salmon RM28
The salmon fillet is perfectly glazed with Pommery and served with garlic potato mash and asparagus.

Hainanese Chicken Chop RM24
The whole chicken leg generously drizzled with appetising sweet and sour sauce served with sweet potato fries instead of the usual french fries.

Jerk Out Chicken RM24
The pan baked jerk marinated chicken served with mashed potatoes and greens is pretty delicious too.

Lamb Rack RM48
The lamb rack grilled with 7 spice is impressively juicy and served with garlic potato mash and pea sprouts. Must try!
Peach Melon RM24
Tequila, watermelon liquer, peach puree, strawberry syrup and lime juice.

Blue Hawaii RM32
Rum, coconut rum liqueur, blue curaƧao, coconut puree and pineapple juice.

Asam Boi Mojitos RM25
Rum, mint syrup, asam boi syrup, lime wedges and mint leaves.

That night we were also entertained by the live performance of classic Christmas songs from the band. Good show, guys.

Hubba Hubba also hosted a wrapping game, where we are required to use the wrapping paper provided to wrap up creatively.

Yay.... I'm the present for the night.

Hubba Hubba is the best place for a celebration or even a quiet dinner with your loved one or family. Simply adores the wide variety of foods and pretty affordable price too. As the tag line goes
'Get hooked on life' and you will be in a Hubba Hubba mood no time.

Brunch & Munch @ G Village

One of the latest cafes in town, Brunch & Munch located at the newly opened G Village retail is the very few cafes that offer porky delights near Desa Pandan.

Stylish and modern set up furnished with bright red and white furniture.

There's also a bar serving wonderful cocktails by award winning mixologist from the View Rooftop Bar at GTower. Well, Brunch & Munch is actually under the same group as G Tower.

BKT Eggs & Belly RM18
Traditionally cooked tea egg & pork bacon in tea broth served with steamed rice. Slight lack in taste and rather oily to my preference.

Pork Corn Belly RM18
Sinfully good roasted pork belly served with hash brown or white rice. Pretty addictive.

Scottish Eggs RM18
Soft-boiled eggs covered in spiced pork and topped with sweet hot sauce & pickled cucumber.

Egg-cellent Salad RM18
This is a pretty interesting combination of salad with egg white, quail egg, carrot, bacon, onion rings, radicchio & rocket drizzled with a tangy honey-citrus dressing and lemon. Truly protein packed!

Fishing in Bed RM30
Nicely done salmon & truffle scramble eggs on thyme-butter baguette, chives, wilted spinach, edamame puree and honey glazed seared lemon.

Asian Ribs RM30
Slow-cooked marinated ribs served with potato wedges, sauteed cabbage and bacon. Ribs are slightly overdone and taste wise a tad sweet to my preference.

The 'Pig'-za RM18
Thin crust pizza with toppings such as ham, chorizo, shredded pork, bak kua, lap cheong, tomato concasse, mozzarella & parmesan cheese, red onion, english mustard mayo. Generous toppings indeed, but the crust is not as crispy as I expected though.

Brunch & Munch Carbonara RM 26
Fettuccine served with pork belly, bacon, aged cheese, mushroom and topped with sous-vide egg. Be sure to give the egg, a good mix prior sinking your teeth into the creamy pasta.

Cheese "Boar"-Ger RM 35
Chunky piece of signature home made BBQ pork patty topped with a sunny side, chinese sausage (lap-cheong), bacon, aged cheddar, pineapple relish, tomato slice, gherkin, lettuce and coleslaw served with charcoal bun. Love the presentation.

Love the thick and chunky patty, if only it's a little more moist and juicy, then it would be perfect.

Beat It RM12
Homemade smoothies of pineapple, peach and carrot.

Last but not least, mandatory pic with the iconic giant egg.

Perhaps because its still new, overall, I find B & M foods still require a little fine tune. Pork dishes are overly fat. With the rising of healthier eating lifestyle, I hope B&M will add in more leaner cuts dishes option in future. A revisit? Not so soon, I guess.

Meja Kitchen + Bar @ Trec, KL (Pork Free)

Meja, in Malay simply means table. I believe most of our family bonding, work meeting or discussion is concluded on the table. Meja is located within the vicinity of the hippest club in town, Zouk. So the next time before you hit the clubbing scene, satisfy your taste buds here with the selection of best Malaysian and Asian fusion cuisines.

Golden Margarita RM49.00
My all time favourite cocktail, mix of premium gold tequila, Cointreau with sweet & sour mix.

Fried Cucur Udang RM18
Highly recommended. Do you know the cucur udang served here is the same recipe served to the royal family. You'll be amazed with the soft texture and generous bits of fresh shrimp.Dip in the sweet chili sauce for some delicious savory treat.

Meja's Chicken Nachos RM30
Highly recommended. Tasty yellow corn tortilla, chicken corn carne, cheddar cheese, pinto beans, guacamole, tomato salsa, sour cream and jalapeno.

Meja's Classic Caesar Salad RM28
Fresh greens tossed with Caeser dressing, beef bacon, parmesan cheese and toasted baguette.

Crunchy Spicy Squid Tentacles RM18
Fried crispy and fragrant, served with homemade chili sauce.Pretty addictive!

Tempura Calamari RM18
Fresh chewy calamari served with spicy mayo sauce.

Homemade Crispy Potato Crisps RM18
Oh my... so tasty, so addictive. Best of all, it is made of real potato!

Seafood Tom Yam Soup RM22
Piping hot soup served with toasted baguette.

Chicken and Prawn Curry Laksa RM25
Yellow noodles served in a rich, hearty curry with fried bean curds, long beans, bean sprouts and egg.

Seafood Aglio Olio RM34
Al dente pasta served with prawn, mussels, scallop, squid, dory fish, brocolli and topped with garlic, onions and chilli flakes.

Grilled Salmon Kyoto Style RM48
Salmon is slighty overcooked for my preference and I find it rather interesting to top it with scrambled eggs and 'siew pak choy'.

Grilled Premium Grass Fed Sirloin Steak RM75
Well marbled with tasty fat and it is best to order for 'medium' done.

BBQ Rack of Lamb RM75
Highly recommended! Perfectly done rack of lamb served with corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and daily vegetables.

Just look at the stunning rack of lamb, fork tender, superb, love in every bite. Please ignore the messy plate.

Waffles RM16
Simplicity at its best. Nice and crisp waffles served with maple syrup and butter.

Chocolate Truffle RM18
Not overly sweet, moist and rich in chocolate taste. All the cakes are in-house made and is to die for too.

F.B.I (Frozen Black Irish) RM44.00
Ended the night with this amazing cocktail mix of Bailey's, Kahlua and vodka with Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream.

Classy, trendy and modern ambiance.

In a nutshell, Meja Kitchen + Bar is worth checking out for a decent meal or even a drink or two. Do check out their affordable lunch deals too.
