Best Pork Steak @ Ante, One Utama

I love my meat! Yeah... I am a carnivore. :p So when my friend invite me for a late lunch at Ante, One Utama, I accepted her invitation without a second thought. Do you know Ante is well known for its chargrilled pork steak? (My all time favourite) They are also awarded the 'Best Place for Meat' category for the Time Out KL Food Awards 2015.

Simply adores the modern and contemporary ambiance.

Tasting Platter RM38 (recommended for 2 persons)
Can't decide on which starter? Go for the tasting platter, then! The platter consists of Jamon Iberico ham, smoked duck breast, house cured salmon, confit onions, candied olives, cherry tomatoes, pickled beetroot, multigrain bread and French butter. Perfect for snack too. I love the perfectly cured salmon and heavenly smoked duck breast.

House Smoked Bacon RM23
The smoked bacon served at Ante is exclusively in-house made. Good fat-to-lean ratio bacon paired perfectly with mushroom duxelle and dijon mustard. It was well-smoked, I adore the thicker cut version too.

Sweet Belly RM25
The signature roast pork belly laced with honey soy sauce was tender with crisp crackling.

Pumpkin RM14
The soup made from scratch using roasted pumpkin and an abundance of herbs giving it a depth of flavours.

Gnocchi on Pesto RM32 (Vegetarian)
The in-house made potato pasta served on a bed of pesto sauce with spinach ragout, chopped tomatoes and parmesan cheese. The gnocchi taste rather bland on its own, but totally brilliant laden with the sauce.

Char Siu Curry Cream RM33
Al dente pasta served alongside in-house made char siu (bbq pork), grilled eggplants and shimeiji mushroom was amazing and the pasta is not overly laden with curry.

Norwegian Salmon RM52
My least favourite dish of all. Hmm.....

The poached salmon texture was slightly mushy and unappealing to me. The flavour was nice though, glazed with miso honey and served with a seaweed crust, braised shitake mushrooms and torched leeks.

The Chargrilled Pork Steak RM52
Next, the main attraction, signature pork steak! Served with russet potatoes, cherry tomatoes, honey glazed rockets and truffle sauce, it was so incredibly juicy and fork tender with a subtle hint of smoky flavour too, it is to die for!

Desserts.

Creme Brûlée RM20
The creme brûlée was magnificent, topped with creme candied olives and chocolate, it was creamy and not too sweet. Seriously, one of the best creme brûlée I've tasted and it is also Ante's best seller.

Valrhona Chocolate Delice RM23
Heavenly dark rich chocolate cake featuring strawberries, blueberries, Hazelnut feuilletine and earl grey tea cream.

Apple Crumble RM18
Apple crumble served with salted caramel syrup and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Sangria RM13 (glass) RM52 (jug) Happy hour 3pm - 7pm
What a thirst-quenching and elegant beverage, it was a rich and refreshing concoction.

Ante also carries a selection label of new and old world wines, available for diners, albeit glass or bottle, perfect for a drinking session with friends or colleagues.

All in all, Ante offer an amazing premium food selection. Must try includes Pork Steak, Bacon, Sweet Belly, Char Siu Curry Cream and creme brûlée.
