Colours Of Spring @ Zuan Yuan, One World Hotel

Usher in the Year of the Monkey on a symbolic note at Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant with a feast of fortune and toss your way to prosperity with Chef Michael's four varieties of Yee Sang. Yee Sang is usually the first dish on any menu for the season as it plays a fundamental part, symbolising the wishes and hopes for the New Year.

Caesar Salad with Salmon & Grated Parmesan Cheese

The tasty Yee Sang is available from January 1 until February 27 for dine-in or take away.

Yee Sang with Abalone and Snow Pear RM100.00 (Half portion) RM200.00 (Full portion)
Yee Sang with Salmon and Sweet Turnip RM86.00 (Half portion) RM172.00 (Full portion)
Caesar Salad with Salmon & Grated Parmesan Cheese RM85.00 (Half portion) RM170.00 (Full portion)
Yee Sang with Bird's Nest and Sweet Turnip RM70.00 (Half portion) RM130.00 (Full portion)

The simple yet tasty colourful Chinese salad is a refreshing change of the customary Yee Sang.

Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Sea Treasures
Lip-smacking piping hot soup with premium ingredients.

Roasted Chicken and Duck Platter served with Marinated Jelly Fish
I prefer the aromatic and tender roasted duck over chicken.

Steamed Golden Star Garoupa with Pickle, Chili and Garlic
Succulent fish steamed to perfection.
Wok Fried Tiger Prawns with Vietnamese Five Spiced Powder
Juicy and fragrant prawn fried crispy.

Braised Sliced Abalone, Mushroom, Sea Moss and Bean Curd and Garden Greens
The highlight auspicious dishes of the evening, braised till extremely flavourful.

Steamed Rice with Yam, Preserved Assorted Meat and Chicken Sausages in Lotus Leaf
Fragrant and fluffy rice generously laden with tasty preserved meats and sausages.

Chilled Sea Coconut with Peach Gum, Lotus Seeds, Snow Lotus Seeds and Red Dates

Deep Fried 'Nian Gao' with Banana Cream
Must have for the Lunar New Year, a timeless favourite.

*Please note that the above dishes do not come in a set.

Set menus are priced at RM1738.00 nett, RM1980.00 nett and RM2210.00 nett for a table of ten with two complimentary bottles of wine.

Jewel In The Lotus @ Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant, One World Hotel

On the 15th day of the eighth month on the lunar calendar is the Mid-Autumn festival. Let's celebrate this special occasion with family and friends, savouring mooncake while admiring the moon. Dim sum Chef of One World Hotel, Jordan Chin once again presents an assortment of exquisite creations which comprise both traditional and innovative flavours. Rich in culture and heritage, texture and taste, the pastry is baked to perfection for total indulgence!

There are nine types of baked mooncakes and eight types of handcrafted snow skin moooncakes available. One of my favourite picks will be the brilliant Deep Fried Teo Chew Yam Paste with Single Yolk. Also available are White Lotus and Black Sesame Paste with Single Yolk, Supreme Mixed Nuts or Tiramisu and Walnut just to name a few.

As for the snow skin mooncake, you could opt for the Red Bean Paste with Pumpkin Seed, Durian Lotus Paste or Green Tea Lotus Paste. For the health-conscious, check out the sugar cane free selections such as the mouth-watering Pandan Lotus Paste and White Lotus Paste with Mixed Nuts.

Elegantly presented in a beautifully crafted packaging, it serves an ideal gift for business associates, family and friends too. The mooncakes are available ala-carte or in a sets of four baked skin and eight snow skin mooncakes. It is priced from RM13 nett onwards (Price are inclusive of 10% service charge and 6% Goods and Services Tax.)

CITARASA TIMUR KE BARAT @ CINNAMON COFFEE HOUSE, ONE WORLD HOTEL

This Ramadhan, treat yourselves and family to Malaysia’s unique and multi-cultural food heritage nightly buffet dinner as Cinnamon Coffee House at One World Hotel, is transformed into a bazaar with live action stalls offering a myriad of tastes from the states around the country.

Feel free to take your pick from over 100 delicacies with six menus rotated daily, prepared by the hotel’s dedicated culinary team led by Executive Sous Chef, Saiful Bahrain Abdul Wahid, fondly known as Chef Bob. It will be a daunting task to choose a favourite dish from the wide buffet spread as all of it are so good to the last spoonful!

Be sure to look out for the all time favourite Sup Gearbox, Bubur Lambuk, Daging Dendeng and Pulut Serawa Durian that tickles the taste buds and tempts the senses. Other gem that is sure to be treasured by food connoisseurs are the Rojak Pasembur, assorted Kerabu, Ikan Panggang Percik, Ayam Rendang Minang and Sotong Kalio to name a few.

Assorted kerabu.

Ikan Masin.

Huge wok filled with heavenly curries of mutton, beef and fish.

Roti John.

Lemang & ketupat.

At the grill section, you can select your seafood and get it grilled by the Chef.

On top of hearty Malay cuisine, diners will also be presented with Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Western fare, local hawker delights, mixed grilled items and seafood on ice.

Some of my favourite dishes includes the excellent Sup Gearbox, flavourful bubur lambuk, fresh sashimi and the awesome satay.

There’s nothing like a sweet ending to any meal and at Cinnamon Coffee House, the options are plentiful. Desserts range from luscious cakes, dainty French pastries to traditional treats like Sago Gula Melaka, Bubur Nangka, Ais Cendol, Ais Kacang and many more.

The 'Citarasa Timur Ke Barat' is priced at RM158.00 per adult and RM79.00 per children aged 4 – 12 years old throughout this Ramadhan (Prices are in Ringgit Malaysia and inclusive of 10% service charge and 6% goods and services tax). The buffet dinner is available from 6.30pm to 10.30pm nightly.
