Authentic & Affordable French Cuisine @ Chez Lèoniel, Alliance Francaise

On a lovely Sunday morning, there I was at Chez Lèoniel Restaurant with a few of my friends. We are in for the treat of a scrumptious French breakfast and lunch. Chez Lèoniel is located at Alliance Francaise de Kuala Lumpur, the official French language and culture centre in Kuala Lumpur. Housed in a fully renovated bungalow in a serene and green setting, you'll need to register with the guard house before entering. There is ample parking available and it's free too.

Anyway, as soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the fragrant aroma of fresh baked pastries. Ohh my... I can't help to start savouring the piping hot pastries.

Fresh homemade pastries of the day.
Small : RM4 (2 pieces - RM7) Big : RM5 (2 pieces - RM9)
(Cinnamon roll - no discount)

Pain au chocolate.

Pain au raisin.

Croissant.

Le chiffre d'affaires d'Apple.

Madeleine.

What a lovely French brekkie with the Malongo Special Grain Americano.
Love the flaky and buttery pastries. Just heavenly......

Chef Leoniel demonstrating the making of crepe. Traditional way of using French crepe hot plate and French recipe.

The crepe is then dressed up with Nutella chocolate. Everyone's favourite!

Nutella Chocolate Crepe RM15 best paired with Malongo Organic Bio Tea Mint RM5.
Crepe was authentic and superb.

Salade Nicoise RM15
Fresh coral salad, Atlantic tuna, green beans, potatoes, eggs, tomatoes and olives serve on bed of lettuce. French style salad.

Soupe de Ratatouille (Ratatouille soup) RM9
Silky rich and thick French stew of zucchini, eggplant & bell peppers served with a slice of baguette.

Tartare d' esturgeon (Sturgeon Tartare) RM25
Fresh farm fed sturgeon sashimi served with pickled and bread, just amazing. Love the beautiful presentation too. Must try!

Confit de Carnard (Duck Confit) RM38
Grilled well browned and crisp duck confit served with roasted potatoes and sautéed vegetables.
The duck meat is rather bland to my preferences and I'm not fond of the tad chewy texture too. Maybe serving it with a sauce would be better?

Pain - Poele d esturgeon RM45
Heavenly perfectly pan-seared sturgeon with green, wild mushroom and garlic. Incredibly tasty and I love the sauce too. Highly recommended!

All in all, Chez Leoniel served authentic and traditional French cuisines that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket. Must try the daily baked fresh pastries, amazing sturgeon dishes and Malongo coffee or tea selection. Reservation is required for dinner.
